Logging

Turning on logging is a good idea. Thanks to that, you will be able to react to any issues during installation. Check how to use Logging Levels.

Plugin installation

Pure JIRA

If you are installing QA Craft for Jira on a freshly installed JIRA, create any JIRA Software project firstly. That will prepare some custom fields used by QA Craft for Jira.

Atlassian Marketplace

To install QA Craft for Jira from Atlassian Marketplace, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
  2. Open Manage apps from the admin drop-down menu.
  3. In Find new apps section, locate QA Craft for Jira via search.
  4. Choose Buy now to purchase a license or Free trial to begin a trial and check QA Craft for Jira possibilities.
  5. On Confirm app installation pop-up, click Accept & install.
  6. Add-on will be installed. After that, you could click Get license to go to My Atlassian page.

Jar/Obr file

To install QA Craft for Jira via add-on file, follow these steps:

  1. Get jar/obr file with QA Craft for Jira add-on from the vendor or other provider.
  2. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
  3. Open Manage apps from the admin drop-down menu.
  4. In the Manage apps section, click Upload app.
  5. Choose add-on file on From my computer field and click Upload.
  6. Close pop-up window with installation confirmation.


Important

After install, you can also find it in the UPM plugin called Rivet Group: Jira App Base Plugin. It provides infrastructure, various libraries, helper functions and baseline for various Rivet Group plugins. Thanks to this, add-ons are smaller, cause fewer loads on servers and lower memory consumption. Please do not disable nor uninstall it!


Plugin activation & License Management

Atlassian Marketplace

To activate QA Craft for Jira via Marketplace, follow these steps:

  1. Login into My Atlassian page.
  2. Copy the license key dedicated for QA Craft for Jira.
  3. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
  4. Open Manage apps from the admin drop-down menu.
  5. In the Manage apps section, locate the QA Craft add-on.
  6. Paste the license key and click Update.

Vendor

To activate QA Craft for Jira by vendor, follow these steps:

  1. Open Manage apps from the admin drop-down menu.
  2. In the QA Craft Config section set the QA Craft Licence tab.
  3. Paste the obtained license key and click Save.


Plugin update

Atlassian Marketplace

To update QA Craft for Jira from Atlassian Marketplace, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
  2. Open Manage apps from the admin drop-down menu.
  3. In the Manage apps section, locate QA Craft for Jira add-on.
  4. If there are any updates available, you will see the Update button. Please click it.

Jar/Obr file

To update QA Craft for Jira via ad-on file, follow these steps:

  1. Get jar/obr file with QA Craft for Jira add-on from the vendor or other provider.
  2. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
  3. Open Manage apps from the admin drop-down menu.
  4. In the Manage apps section, click Upload app.
  5. Choose add-on file on From my computer field and click Upload.
  6. Close pop-up window with installation confirmation.
